Just a little PSA reminder that early voting starts today, Oct 24. Our nation has probably never had a more important presidential election, and it is imperative that we make our voices heard. Encourage like-minded family members, friends, coworkers, or random strangers wearing conservative themed t-shirts or rocking NRA stickers on their vehicles to vote. Offer to take older friends or family members to the polls if they need help. We need to really rally on this one.

A few quick reminders:
No carry at the polling places.
Any clothing that could be construed as political is not allowed. (Have to leave my Reagan shirt at home).
Your LTC is an accepted form of ID.

Practice your right of freedom that so many brave American men and women have died to protect.

Went at noon northwest of Houston. Pretty long line; took me over 90 minutes to get through. I decided I simply went at a stupid time, considering I could have gone before or after the lunch hour. But the four o'clock network news reported that the turnout has been heavy all across the city, and that Harris County may well set a record for number of first-day early voters.

Perhaps both good news and bad news. You simply can't profile voters standing in line with any accuracy at all. So I have no comment other than: vote.

Everyone please go to the polls and vote.

Went after work here in Copperas Cove. Took all of 5 minutes. Go Trump/Pence!!

Wife wore her homemade T-shirt, Make America Great Again, she even put a cartoon of herself on it. They didn't like it even after standing in line for 45 minutes, we where feet away from going in when a volunteer questioned her shirt. She took it off and turned it inside out in order to vote.

Went this morning, as I remember past years open at 7am.

Well, THiS WEEK, 8am!

went yesterday after work in Pasadena.

I got in line outside at about 5:10, got indoors about about 6:15, Got to the voting machine about 7:10. I decided that I would present my LTC as ID to see how the check-in person would respond. I was polite and said "good evening" then I presented my LTC. She asked me if I had my driver's license, and I said "yes, I do." She asked if I minded if she used that instead, and I said "not at all". So I took back my LTC and handed over my driver's license. I wonder if I was the first person she'd seen try to vote using an LTC. Either way, I wasn't going to question her or argue that it is valid ID. She had a sign right in front of her that showed images of all 7 types of valid photo ID. So I know that she knew that it was valid.

There were probably 150 people still in line behind me. One woman had on a Hillary hat. I didn't see any other political clothes.

I thought that it was interesting that at the entrance they had a tiny sign with tiny print that said that cell phones were prohibited. They had one lady inside the building telling people not to use their phones. Lots of people still on their phones anyway... One man asked her why, and she said "because it's the law".

As soon as I got in line the man in front of me looked at me and said "you look like you must be a republican". I was a little stunned, and jokingly said "well, that's none of your business", but yes I am voting republican. He was a union working, retirement eligible, pre-Vietnam marine corps veteran lifelong democrat and told me that this was the first election that he had ever registered as a republican and was voting for a republican. He said that in 2012, his union pretty much told them who to vote for and he went along with it, but later decided that it was a big mistake. Just an anecdote, but I know that there was at least two Trump voters and at least one Hillary voter there.

On the sign going in to vote there is a list of acceptable items for identification, LTC is one of them.

I can appreciate your being polite about offering her preferred from of ID, but I wouldn't have done it.

I'm going to present my LTC and if they don't accept it I will contact the appropriate authorities about the violation of my rights. You give liberals an inch and they'll push you backwards for a mile over a cliff.

I walked into the voting location and the nice lady there said to have ID ready so I dug out both LTC and DL. She looked at the swipe strip on my DL and said, "they'll probably have better luck with the LTC." Priceless!...

...They typed it all in anyway...lol

I have to agree with you on this. I don't think that politely expecting the law to be followed is being confrontational. It seems like a small thing, but the restrictions we have now, and the massive restrictions in other states, all started as small things. Rights that are not exercised are taken away.

I also heard from somewhere, this election will set a new record for voter turnout.

Wow, I almost got on TV. One couple that they showed walking up to get in line was literally right in front of me.
