They have the 'No concealed handguns' signs, ' under authority of
Texas concealed handgun license law, (Texas Civil Statutes,
Article 4413 (29ee) )'.

I have looked at the statutes and I don't get their reasoning.
They don't seem to fit into any of the "prohibited places" categories.
They don't fit the "51%" rule, they don't qualify under the
"amusement park" definition, and they don't fit the "sporting
event" or any other definition of a "prohibited" place I can find.

Can anybody enlighten me as to how they may prohibit CCW
under the Texas Statutes, other than just "private property"?

I'm not looking for a "legal", just an 'educated' opinion.

Unless it is a valid/legal 30.06 sign you have not been officially notified that you are not allowed to carry on those premises. So the worst that could happen is you would be asked to leave if someone spotted your CCW gun.

But on the more practical side - do you want to spend your money at someplace like that? Go there and wait outside, talk to the manager and tell him/her that the sign is not a legal notice but that you prefer to spend your $$ at places that support you. Then walk away.

i wouldn't go into trader's village without at least two guns. we recover more stolen property from that place.

There are some (note I said SOME) good people at Trader's Village, and since most of the stalls are rented, it's not the fault of the "shop owners" that the management is out of touch with reality. I'll do business with Obie (Makes Yankee Blaster spices) and a few of the other people who are regulars out there, but yeah, I don't care for that place much anymore. Canton is a LOT better... :)
