14" upper on an AR with a stock. Does the flash hider count (even though it looks less than 2 inches)?

The A2 flash hider is something like 1.7 inches or something, and they make barrels that are 14.3 inches, not just 14 inches...With that said, he's probably not realizing the rules with a 16 inch barrel. Hopefully he has the little bit longer than 14 inch barrel because his flash hider is perm attached so it does count for the barrel

A permanently attached flash hider or muzzle brake is included when measuring barrel length, iirc. However, if you're concerned, you can call the toll free "800" number in red at the bottom of the ad page to verify.

Yep. My Bushmaster A3 "Patrolman" has a 16" overall barrel that includes a birdcage-type, permanent, factory installed flash suppressor. So long as the break/suppressor is permanent and not designed to be removable, it counts as part of the barrel length.
