I think those words go along with the stray bulletholes in various things that are not downrange(tables, walls, roof @ outdoor range)
If guns kill people, then pencils misspell words.

You made me think of a place on Brooks City-Base (ex-AFB) where many such words were probably said. The armory was a small, stand alone building. Think storage building on steroids (it was a very small base). Outside the door was a clearing barrel. This one had a round metal plate on top, about 2 1/2 feet across with a ten inch hole in the middle over the barrel, maybe 1/2in thick.LongHairedRedneck wrote:I think those words go along with the stray bulletholes in various things that are not downrange(tables, walls, roof @ outdoor range)
Now you all know the purpose of the barrel. Clear your weapon, place muzzle in hole, pull trigger, no bang, hand in weapon.
One day on a walk I took a closer look at the barrel. The plate had at least 50 impacts on it. I don't know what worried me most. That the Security Police (only people on Brooks regularly carrying weapons) couldn't properly clear a weapon, or that they couldn't hit a 10-inch hole.
I would also think that the armorer probably kept some changes of underwear on hand.
