Can anyone shed light on the quality difference between Essex vs. Caspian frames for a 1911 build ??

Essex had a rather spotty reputation in the past but that was in the early days. Caspian has a pretty good reputation. Essex has relocated their production facility so they may have new equipment. I would use either myself. YMMV.

Essex has cleaned up their act and I wouldn't hesitate to use their products. However, between the two, I would pick Caspian.
