In physics, you learn that kinetic energy = mass times velocity squared (when we're going signigicantly slower than c) so personally, i'll go for the lighter round that moves faster.
147 grain - a better 9mm cartridge?

I am not a lawyer, nor have I played one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, nor should anything I say be taken as legal advice. If it is important that any information be accurate, do not use me as the only source.

Yes, but m is in kilograms, v is in meters and the answer comes out furlongs per fortnight or something like that.Dave2 wrote: It's (1/2)m*v^2. Momentum is m*v
I'd prefer a formula that takes the gun goes bang, and gives the odds the perp falls dead, and how long it takes!
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

You'll never get that answer. Too many long time veterans of the "Great Caliber Wars" out thereJALLEN wrote:Yes, but m is in kilograms, v is in meters and the answer comes out furlongs per fortnight or something like that.Dave2 wrote: It's (1/2)m*v^2. Momentum is m*v

BTW, I enjoy your posts Sir, so please accelerate your move to Texas, if at all possible

That is very kind of you to say.G26ster wrote:You'll never get that answer. All you have to do to hasten my move is find somebody with a lot of money to buy my house, and I'm outa here!
Coronado is exceedingly pleasant, and our house is on a channel to the bay, with a dock in the back that handles 2 <62' boats. The ocean and beach are mere steps away. Full disclosure: We did have 2-3 minutes of hail yesterday at the end of the Chargers game, very unusual. The ice here stays in the glass.
Bring money!

J. Allen,
I'll echo that. Hope you can return to Texas soon. A couple of years ago, on another forum, I told you I planned to retire to the Wimberley area. I did and don't regret it except that I don't have access to a range within reasonable driving distance. I was spoiled by PSC outside of Alvin, Tx. A group inDripping Springs is in the process of putting together an NRA range and I hope that happens soon.
Incidentally, my next door neighbor just moved here from Catalina, up the coast from you and has quickly adapted. He choose to move here when he retired and has no regrets.
Hope to see you i the area soon.

If you are there in the hill country, enjoy the Gemütlichkeit, but try not to get any on ya!
