It should have a giant flashing sign with "got guns?" In huge 7 in tall lettering. Then they should have a chl camera man who pans the crowd waiting for people to broadcast to a giant bigscreen tv in the center of the fair. Lastly, they should give out large pins that say "I'm armed" to anyone who uses the entrance, just in case it wasn't clear by that point.

Reminds me of the "Show Us Your Guns" skit on SNL years ago.

Security wanded my friend and then myself - both of our pistols - and didn't say a word. We were the only two in our group carrying, but we both walked right on through without anyone detecting our firearms. Security theater at its finest...

Wow, this is harder than I thought. I've got the final report started and have made quite a bit of progress, but it'll be another day or so. Sorry.

My wife and I didn't make it to the State Fair this year for the first time in many years. My story from last year was interesting.
I came to the entry gate and was wanded which revealed my Gerber 3" folder and my pocket gun. I informed the gate security lady that I have a CHL and she said fine (never asked to see it and I didn't volunteer.) She informed me, however, that I'd have to take my knife back to my car and I said, "Look, I have a concealed handgun license. If I can carry a gun legally, I can carry a knife legally, too," to which she replied, "Yeah, that makes sense," and waved me through.
