Not having been normal from birth, I never had a fear of being normal. Well maybe once, but I got over it when I decided I was unique and normal was just blending in with a crowd and that since I wasn't normal... that being abnormal was normal for me ...so since never being normal was normal, that I was normally abnormal and now I'm not sure if I'm normal or abnormal because being abnormal is normal for me so normally I'm abnormal and it's really abnormal for me to be normal except that it's always normal for me to be abnormal.
And, that's how I like it.

Granted, it will likely drop some more. But all I've got to be able to work on, for now, is knowledge that past history has been that the stock market is the "best" (taken in the long term view) place to invest. It has historically been a good idea. I grant you, past performance is not guarantee of future performance. However, I simply have to (because I am not mentally prepared for an alternate reality) go on the presumption that US businesses will ultimately generally succeed and pay to have been invested in. There will be individual losers, no doubt, but ultimately my belief is on the general upward trend in business values, and therefor in the value of investing in businesses. I don't try to time the market, but I do aim for "lower" areas as prime investment opportunities.

And if you truly want to be rich, yeah, you might want to do the opposite of what I do, but what can I say? I'm a creature of beliefs and I tend to live them, whether they ultimately pan out or not. Either way, I make peace with my decisions and live a generally happy life. <quirky look>
