It's a Zen thing...
but if... then... but... Ouch! My head hurts.
;-)
Not having been normal from birth, I never had a fear of being normal. Well maybe once, but I got over it when I decided I was unique and normal was just blending in with a crowd and that since I wasn't normal... that being abnormal was normal for me ...so since never being normal was normal, that I was normally abnormal and now I'm not sure if I'm normal or abnormal because being abnormal is normal for me so normally I'm abnormal and it's really abnormal for me to be normal except that it's always normal for me to be abnormal.
And, that's how I like it.

I understand completely!

You see, where you're normally abnormal, I'm abnormally normal!

There is nothing to fear but fear itself.

Obviously you weren't watching the stock market today. It put the lie to your statement. There is MUCH to fear...

Well, that's how the fortune cookie crumbles, Obie-wan. :biggrinjester:

Some would see the stock market tumble as a prime opportunity to invest. No fear there.

Apparently, you believe it's a one-day event, then. Hope you're right, "fear" you're not.

Granted, it will likely drop some more. But all I've got to be able to work on, for now, is knowledge that past history has been that the stock market is the "best" (taken in the long term view) place to invest. It has historically been a good idea. I grant you, past performance is not guarantee of future performance. However, I simply have to (because I am not mentally prepared for an alternate reality) go on the presumption that US businesses will ultimately generally succeed and pay to have been invested in. There will be individual losers, no doubt, but ultimately my belief is on the general upward trend in business values, and therefor in the value of investing in businesses. I don't try to time the market, but I do aim for "lower" areas as prime investment opportunities.

And if you truly want to be rich, yeah, you might want to do the opposite of what I do, but what can I say? I'm a creature of beliefs and I tend to live them, whether they ultimately pan out or not. Either way, I make peace with my decisions and live a generally happy life. <quirky look>

Declaration that I must be right, as my logic is in-arguable.
Counter point to your declaration that you must be right. Also, nitpicking technical minor quibble blown out of all proportion to the original point being picked at.
Re-iteration of original declaration. Statement of demonstrably false information, with added sources which, when traced, all quote original flawed study.

Statement which obliquely implies any disagreement is demonstrative of mental illness.

Closing statement which inadvertently disproves entire line of reasoning, then re-iteration of "I must be right."

You left out "Claim that all who disagree must be racist."
