Nope

No, it is not a 2 man race. That is a silly thing to say.
Oh, I can't wait to read the answer to this one, although I think we all know what's coming. Since it is "silly" to say it's a 2 man race, who, pray tell, is the 3rd person with a chance to win?
The Republican convention has started and we're still waiting to learn the identity of this viable 3rd candidate. Did I miss your answer?

Chas.
I'm kinda antici.......................PAting too. I'm sure that he'll answer either Ron Paul or Gary Johnson. It's a 50/50 bet to which he'll pick, so there's no money in a wager.......but it's kind of sad when someone thinks that a candidate who isn't going to get more than a few percent of the vote is "viable." They must have different definition for the word "viable" than the rest of the planet does. But the really sad thing is that few percent is going to be enough to throw the election to Obama.

I think voters like that rather enjoy being "les enfants terrible," the spoilers who would rather see the country go down in flames than vote for a compromise candidate. Their math just doesn't work, so they pray for Ragnarok.

The dollar is now worth about 0.00060790273556 of an ounce of gold. IOW, in the early 1900,s the dollar was worth 0.0529109 of a troy ounce. Today it's worth 1.148917776035 % of what it was worth just a century ago. Or to put it another way, the US government, through the Federal Reserve, has stolen $99 of every $100 that your forefathers owned in assets.
I have not warmed up the calculator and confirmed these numbers, but, they do seem to be in line with my prior understanding.
An excellent explanation of what happens when currency is devalued... Thanks for sharing it..

Had to look that one up...

Afterward, the world will resurface anew and fertile, the surviving and reborn gods will meet, and the world will be repopulated by two human survivors. Ragnarök is an important event in the Norse canon, and has been the subject of scholarly discourse and theory.

Good one..
Notice the rousing applause for Dennis (paraphrasing... "I want to help the helpless, but I don't have anything left in the tank for the Clueless") and not for Jay ("Obama is compassionate").

And of course.... "I sent the Warren campaign a donation today..... in beads" "rlol"

Yeah, Davis and Haley were good. I didn't catch Cruz's speech. Was still working when he was on. BTW, I think Ann Romney probably inspired AND reassured a lot of women who might otherwise be sitting on the fence.

The first part of her speech was TERRIBLE. But she really picked up steam and closed well at the end. She needs to work with a vocal coach and the speech writer a bit though.

Still, I'm sure she didn't have to wait until her husband was the Presidential nominee before she could be proud of her country for the first time, so she's already miles ahead of michele.

Not sure why, but Cruz came across to me as way too "Televangelist".
I don't think he helped us win any "Independents".
It was quite the coup for him to be in such a role, since he's not yet ever been elected to anything.

I liked Ann Romney's speech. I thought her struggling a bit made her more real. I thought she did a great job speaking to women, affirming that her husband is an honorable guy (unlike Slick Willie) and describing their modest beginnings in a way that "normal people" can relate to...

Christie was his usual blustery-great self. :thumbs2:

I had sort of the same thought about the delivery of her speech. It wasn't so much the content. I thought that part was 100% spot on, for what it was intended to do, which was to get the attention of women. My wife was transfixed. She even made a comment about how much she liked the fact that Ann Romney's attire and accessories were sensible......not too much makeup, earrings and no other jewelry, etc. I agree that the delivery of her speech left a little something to be desired at the outset, but I chalked that up to her not being a "professional" speaker. In other words, she spoke like someone who isn't used to doing it.

I have a good friend who lives in Santa Fe who is knows Martinez very well, and who says that she is the real deal.....exactly what you saw on TV. I've heard her tell that story before about leaving a friends house and telling her husband, "Well I'll be darned! We're republicans!"
