Off topic but I wish someone would propose a bill adding to the posting requirements of the 30.06. Right now it says the sign must be posted in a conspicuous manner visible to the public. What should be added is, and must be posted at any and all public entrances.

Session is over so no more bills introduced until next session in 2015.

I think the requirement should be a sign in flashing red and green neon with loudspeakers blaring the required text in english and spanish.

My whole life, 28yrs. Be nice to us younger guys, we choose your nursing home. I never got into politics much until all this anti gun legislation was introduced on the Federal level. Its all new to me but I enjoy learning about it.

That is one of the advantages to living in Texas. The legislature is only allowed to meet every other year....it keeps them from getting into as much trouble.

Having lived in California for most of my life, I got to witness first hand what a full time legislature is capable of doing. They love creating laws to justify their own existence, never mind the actual utility of said legislation.

Maybe it's changed in recent years, but part of the core curriculum (required for graduation) in Texas high schools used to be "U.S. Government" which focused on the U.S. Constitution and the federal structure (legislative, judicial and executive branches), but also included a section on the State Government which covered how and when the State Legislature is in session. Maybe you were out sick a lot that year...

Glad you are willing to learn and be Edumacated about our gooberment.

I know when I was in school, I had to have Texas Government as part of graduation but that doesn't mean I retain everything either. Another interesting fact that most outside of Texas don't realize, except for the Secretary of State, all executive officers are elected independently. It further limits the power of our govenator.

I took a government/economics class but it was 90% federal related and I was busy chasing women in HS.
