Congrats to both of you. Since you are both right in my same time frame, I'm hoping (praying really), that I'm next up. It dovetails with what I was told by DPS on Wednesday. I was told that they're working on our week right now. I was all in on January 15 .

That is good news MAVS00, I was all in 1/9/16 and I am watching and trying to be patient. I hope that you are right about them working on mid January apps. Fingers crossed the wait will be over soon.

Status change for me this morning! I feel like Steve Irwin and the postman is some rare exotic animal I'm stalking.

My patience finally ran out and called RSD, currently on day 61. Submitted and confirmed 1/25/16, and they let me know that yes, they have all my documents, but they haven't even started the background check yet. I don't even know what to say about that.

Welcome to the speed of the government when they owe you something after you pay them for it.

I finished everything and submitted Feb 1. Called and confirmed they had everything. This is what it says on the webpage about License Application Status:

"If you have a pending License to Carry a Handgun application, please allow sufficient time for processing. If you have not already done so, please submit all of the items listed on the checklist you received. DPS will notify you by mail if further information or additional documents are required."

Is that what everyone else's says? I keep hearing people saying theirs says "pending". Is that what they are referring to, or should I be concerned?

When the "status changes", you will see an option to change your address on that page.

I had my confirmation 1/4/16 so you likely still have some time. Even with my fingerprints coming in a little later, I'm still a full week or so ahead of you and I don't have plastic in hand yet. Calling around to TXDPS I feel helped. Mostly everything else was a dead end for me.

Plastic came today! I can stop stalking the mailman now...

All in date 1/7/16 email confirmation.

Called State Rep, Governors Office and Public Safety Commission got a call back each time from RSD always saying 12 to 14 weeks.

Last call from Public Safety Commission the fella said they hadn't even looked at it but would Friday which is today, no other explanation.

Day 78 still waiting!

I have to say that I was surprised that my Democratic State Rep from Liberal Austin did more for me than Governor Abbott. While I did receive a form letter from Governors office saying I would be contacted, I never was. I never received even an acknowledgement from Watson's office which shouldn't surprise me. Duke's staff on the other hand contacted me within 2 hours of my initial email and kept in contact with me to make sure RDS had contacted me. When no one had by last Friday, she assured me that she would follow up on Monday. After I got my 2 calls, I was forwarded the email from RDS saying that my license had been approved and asked if there was anything else they could do for me. Rep Dukes does have an opponent in November and I will make sure to cast my ballot for her.

GUYS! The most bizarre thing just came my way. I got an EMAIL from RSD replying to an old email I sent asking for an update. However, the upside is that it said that my license was printed and mailed yesterday!
