TxPamIam, Thanks for your input. All of this sorta reminds me of standing in the check out line in Walmart.....just when I'm the next person, the checker calls for a price check from the guy on the other side of the store... If and when I get this CHL at least I get a four year vacation before i have to do it again. Unfortunately, I still have to go to walmart once in awile....

Txpam, Good post above. I'm no expert either, but from what I have been told by a few reliable sources is the 60 days doesn't start until they recieve ALL needed documents and start background check, not from when they recieve it at DPS. I assume it sits in pile until somebody gets it.:

Well, the good news is I'm at the check out counter now! My status finally updated to Manufactering Pending. Now hopefully the printer won't run out of ink and the post office workers don't go on strike in the next couple of weeks....

Hello all,
I started my application process online and completed course, ID, etc and mailed to DPS on Feb 24. When I check status online it states still waiting required receive all materials. It's Apr 11th, should I be worried my envelope didn't make it thru the mail?

Assuming you completed OR sent all the items below, either online or via mail on or before 2/24 (you didn't mention all of these) ...I would send an email through their system. 46 days seems a bit long from what I've observed. Usually it's closer to 30. It could also mean they are swamped. But your question sounds valid if you got everything in around 2/24. I would let them know when you mailed it, and ask if they did receive it. I hope you made copies of everything...if you need to resend it. I suggest return receipt if you have to resend (that way you know whether they did get it, and you can therefore assume it's sitting in a stack on the desk). Keep us posted.

1) application forms (usually online)
2) payment for CHL application (usually online)
3) electronic fingerprints through MorphoTrust
4) 2 passport type photos
5) passport holder, signed (Form CHL-6)
6) certificate of training from instructor, signed (Form CHL-100)
7) paperwork from shooting proficiency if separate, signed
8) if special circumstances, applicable forms, such as credentials from military, law enforcement, out of country birth, etc

Did I miss anything?
Thank you for the response. I followed the check list above in the enclosed mailing. Sent them an email a week ago with no response yet. Do you have the correct email address to verify I sent it correctly.
