For All:
Read "One Ranger", by Texas Ranger H. Joaquin Jackson. All of the stories told in this thread were recounted by the author who is alive and well in Alpine, TX where he owns Ranger Investigations.
just FYI...
PS Great Book.

While I respect Jackson's service as a Texas Ranger, I don't care to support him financially.

Here's why:

Where does the second ammendment say only 5 rounds or less? Who keeps voting these guys in? Why?

I'm catching up on some old threads. Thanks for this information. What a bad excuse for a Texas Ranger!

Great book, I highly recommend it. I read it this past summer and have considered reading it again.

He was a great Texas Ranger, however I don't agree with his stance on assault weapons. If your a law abiding citizen it doesn't matter if you only have a 5 round magazine or a 100 round beta mag. your not going to be committing crimes and killing people with it therefore it's for sport/fun.

Where they asked the Ranger if carrying that .45 with hammer back was dangerous and he replies "I would carry if it weren't."
Thankfully you guys cleaned up the language. "rlol"

I was talking to a ranger at a gun show awhile back and he was carrying the most beautiful thing in the world.
Two 1911s

As a NRA Life Member/Voting member, I filled out my Directors ballot this morning. Based on this video, Mr. Jackson was not one of my votes.

As in a dual rig? I've never seen a ranger wearing one of those. It would be an interesting sight.

I'm taking that as tongue in cheek. I hope you meant it that way.

Why would he need to say it that way?

I was JUST fixing to say that some of the folklore sounds like something that would have come out of Charlie Miller's mouth....then I found this...

http://www.shootingtimes.com/gunsmoke/miller_0730/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

talk about the good old days.....forget pinning the grip safety!!! rawhide works just as well on that 1911.....with custom inlay grips, and gold engraving!!!! it gives it that "rugged" look :fire

You know what's wrong with this country? Too many folks won't tolerate the likes of Charlie Miler. Too many of today's society want ***************** men running this country in the name of political correctness.

Could you imagine the lead in story on tonite's news about the "crazed Texas Ranger" shooting up a coffee shop?

God rest his soul. And the souls of the great men like him that made this great country what is was.....until recently........

....hoping my use of words doesn't get me banned.......
