Probably the most famous local case of police summoning aid is the Charles Whitaker/UT tower shooting. It was locals with their hunting rifles that helped keep him pinned down, and a non-leo citizen went up the tower to help the officer end the spree, IIRC. Another more recent case would be the North Hollywood Bank Robbery shoot-out where the police had to go borrow rifles from the local gun shops. If there were no locals with guns or the right to guns, the gun shops would not be there either.Will938 wrote:I'll also bring up the point of police summoning aid. As late as Monday, 12-03-2007, Austin PD was asking for citizen help in finding a missing alzheimer patient, though no firearms were needed for it.

311.004. CITATION OF CODES. A code may be cited by its
