I actually put all the disassembled parts on a tray on my desk here. Then I assigned Snoot (SP101) and Shorty (Taurus 85) to stand guard there all night while Springer & Kim took there regular post in the bedroom. We slept well.
GCs suggestion was what I wanted to do at the 1st. this is his only pistol & was given to him yrs ago by my Son in Law when He was first learning & only had $100.00. That covered the gun, abox of shells, & still had change. What ever the metel (if you can even call it that) is would problbly do just that, liquify in the blender. Probably would not dull the blades at all either.
I am sure a dealer or gunsmith may have seen one this dirty, gritty, & gummy. I kid you not, There is enough black oilly grit in & on it that it reminds me of cleaning parts off a lawn mower. This may well be the only time it has been apart since it was bought 15 yrs ago. Since his dad is almost 60 this cleaning should do him the rest of his life & that is the sad truth.
Thanks also go to KB but, it will take brass brush scrubbing to get some of this off. Before going hunging this past season, (shot, wounded, & lost 2 deer) he sprayed it down w/ WD40 until it washed out some of the dirt & would cycle "properly". (what ever that is for this weapon {uuhhhh if you can call it that w/ a straight face}) Shot it several times & it really looks like burnt motor oil on the barrel. Thanks KB, but I dont think the dish washer will do the trick.
Breakfast is reade so I will eat then get Snoot & shorty to release the prisoner to me for a bath then send him back to the floorboard of the truck he belongs in.
LT.

PS.
what about washing an Uncle Mikes holster. This thing is so dirty I dont want to put even this in it after cleaning. Really, there was small dried mud spots, grease & oil dirt, & dirty on the inside. Holster should wash in washing machine I would think.
