Where and how do I vote? You can count me in for the vote. Oh, of course I am also a member of NRA.
I hate to sound cliche, but I'm with Stupid. I'm an NRA member (yes, fully paid), but don't know how to go about voting.
Would someone please direct us?
Life members and annual members with 5 consecutive years of membership are voting members. I think ballots will be in the February issues of the magazines.

Thanks folks,
Chas.
Its a shame you have to be a member for 5 years. I am on year 2.

I agree.
I'm wondering how this will work. I've paid three years in advance, but I can't remember how many years I had been a member before purchasing the three years.
I guess I'll find out if/when I get a ballot.

I doubt Charles would be in a position to say anything. There's probably rules against it.

But I sure can!
The yahoo was Joaquin Jackson.
Here;s what got him in trouble:

In his defense, he did say that was his personal opinion, not an "official" opinion
I would be curious to know if he has a rebuttal or clarification, or if he's since changed his mind, like that sportswriter did.

Sorry. If he publicly stated it I do not care if it is his personal opinion or not. Personal opinions are what infringe on the second amendment.

I don't know how long it takes to get you on the proper list to get your ballot in your magazine, but if it's not in your February issue just call and request a ballot to be mailed.

Thanks,
Chas.

Charles,

Yes I will vote for you also.

And Venus Pax:

I suspect one reason for the 5 year rule is to make sure voting is done by relatively serious, committed members who really believe in the organization's goals. You could imagine the problems if, for example, half of Move-on.org decided to join the NRA for a year or two and elect Michael Moore (who has claimed to be a NRA member) to the board of directors or some such nonsense.

I empathize with anygunanywhere.

I've been eligible to vote since 1976, but I don't recall doing so since the NRA upheaval of 20-25 years ago. Why?

Because the brief bio's listed in American Rifleman don't tell you enough to distinguish one candidate from the other.

The candidates have always been just a list of names that I might as well have selected by throwing darts.

So I will phrase any's question a little differently.

Is there a source where one can find useful background on the candidates that might include such traiterous remarks as that made by Joaquin Jackson?

The secret is to vote only for the ones that you feel strongly about. the fewer folks you actually vote for the more powerful your vote becomes. If Mr. Cotton is the only one one you truly trust, then cast him the sole vote. Remember all the candidates are running against each other.

That is really the case.

Actually, I occasonally have thoughts about how interesting it would be to take over the local chapter of [name of anti-gun organization] and stake out a more sane position on something... :evil2:
