We have about 200 employees scattered across the US. Headquarters is near downtown Dallas. Did I mention I love my company?
My previous employer paid for each manager (me included) to take the class. We paid for our own liciense. When he sold the company, they had a strict no guns policy, even 30.06 posted.
Notice I said previous employer. This was just one of many reasons I left them.
Now, my current employer has a policy that states carrying of a handgun is prohibited without written permission. When I accepted the position and read the policy, I asked who to get the written permission from. He said he was the only one that could give it, did I have a CHL. Yes. Here is your permission.
I work for a towing company with 10 employees, including the 2 owners, in the FTW area.
About the worst that has been said is, one of the owners thinks I am paranoid and said it was illegal to have a gun in a tow truck.....he he....and yes, I continue to let him believe it.
The other owner wants to take his CHL class this next month but has admitted that he will probably never carry. Needless to say, I didnt try to talk him out of it but encouraged him further. I just see it as one more step for him in our direction and when the day comes that he really believes in the NEED to protect his family, he will be prepared and already have it.

The state agency that I work for has a very clear "no unlicensed weapons" policy. I carry everyday and everywhere in my regular course of business with the notable exception of the courthouse.
I am not the only employee with a CHL even though it is more rare than it should be.

I'll do a free CHL class and if you can't afford the $140 fee, I'll pay that. If they don't apply within 60 days of starting to work for me, I start making fun of them and calling them names. If they don't apply within 90 days, I have everyone make fun of them and call them names. If they haven't applied by the 120th day, I fire them and hire their husbands' ex-girlfriends.
