It was said by the kid that was running the fight club type event out of his high school and video taping awhile back. He said that his parents told thier parents that they where never going to raise their kids by punishing them and that he was a produst of that type of rasing. I guess they girls are a product of the same type.

This seems to be the down-flow effect of Dr. Spock in the 60's and modern day Political Correctness, run amok! My personal observation is that this all started during the 50's and 60's, when they took Prayer and Daily Bible Readings out of the public school system. Now, we are reaping the results. Just my opinion.

I know most of the people on this board are faith based and would probably agree with ya in some way but I do not belive that had any bearing on right and wrong. I am not religious and dont follow any one god but I know the diffrence between right and wrong. It still comes down to parenting. Just casue you make your children go to church dosn't mean that they are going to turn out good in the end. You still have to be a parent. You can teach god all you want but if you leave out the right and wrong then you might as well expect a story like this about your kids one day.

Maybe, but not necessarily.
He may feel it's easier to bail his daughter out of trouble than to actually be a good parent.
After all, she's obviously a product of good parenting!
Not sure how paying back the girl scout her money is bailing out his daughter -- seems like it is the LEAST he could do. He would be a better parent if he didn't reimburse the girl scout? Don't think so.
Granted, this is only a start, it is not the whole set of actions he and his wife should be taking. And even good parents who do everything right still get rotten kids sometimes. And vice-versa. I've seen that often enough. There are some studies that claim that the influence of parenting compared to peers and other society inputs is pretty low. Not an excuse to skip the parenting process tho.

One thing is certain, bad parenting... whether intentional or not, is a great disservice to the child.
Even with good parenting, it seems a few manage to go astray, lets not help them go wrong. Raise them right, know who their friends are...and what they are doing, kids need firm guidance and love.
And don't do this:
