Who was he selling to? Aren't kids in school (your post said at lunch today)? No wonder he was upset. He was burning fuel and schlepping ice-cream without hope of any customers. I'd probably be flinging ice cream around as well, wondering where my life took a turn for the worse...

I would think anyone selling ice cream in February is a little crazy.

I know this is Texas....but how hot is it there in Odessa?

I do love those drumsticks though!

They close all the ice cream stores here during the winter, except the Dairy queen and the Cold Stone Creamery in the mall and they are always packed.

From the Odessa Municipal Code Sec. 14-17. Mobile street vendors.
(2) Special requirements. Mobile street vendors shall be required to comply, and it shall be an offense not to comply with the following special requirements:
e. Display on the rear and front of the vehicle a sign with a white background and red letters (in block form that are uniform in size and three (3) to five (5) inches in height) that provides the following warning:Warning: Watch for Child Near This Vehicle and Stop Before Passing When Stop Arm Is Extended.
and
(5) Duty of other drivers. The driver of a vehicle meeting or overtaking from either direction a mobile street vendor stopped on the street shall stop no less than twenty-five (25) feet from the front or rear of said mobile street vendor when the flashing lights and stop signal arm described herein are in use. After stopping, a driver may proceed past such mobile street vendor at a reasonable and prudent speed not exceeding fifteen (15) miles per hour and shall yield the right-of-way to any pedestrian who crosses the roadway to or from the mobile street vendor. The driver of a vehicle on a street with separate roadways separated by a divider of some nature need not stop upon meeting or passing a mobile street vendor on the parallel roadway.
Since you did stop it looks like you did OK!

I can't say that I've ever seen an icecream truck on a winter day during school.

Well, It' been over 70 degrees here.
I'm trying to figure out if it's the truck that plays "La Cuckarracha" or the one that plays "Pop Goes the Weasel". and of course how to replicate what TxTac did. :coolgleamA:

I always thought listening to one song like that, 12 hours a day, would drive ya nuts.

I don't much care for the ice cream truck that travels through my area. I don't like that song either. I told my kids that is the song he plays when he is out of ice cream.
