For me it's more that the "shock" or "jolt" from the cartridge going off is transferred directly through the very solid, and very narrow trigger, right into the meat of my trigger finger. I don't recall my finger ever getting pinched between the trigger and the grip frame. I've heard a number of people complain about this, and apparently there's a wider trigger shoe available from a few different places, I may try that and a set-screw, or I may just leave it as is. The "bite" does not bother me until I'm a few hundred rounds into a range session, and I'm usually bored by then anyway.
