I have decided to drop the whole PC thing, and that is what this offending/being offended thing is all about. Political Correctness is all about lying to ourselves and being lied to, so others can manipulate us by feigning being offended. Therefore, tell yourself and others the truth, do what is right, and if someone gets offended ... that's their problem ... not yours! As long as we do and say the truth, we should not be guilted into shame, and that is where all of this has led. It just takes tooo much energy to read other folks' minds, so we know if we are offending them, so we can stop doing or not do whatever it is that we think "might" offend them. See how manipulated we have become?

So, Man/Woman up! Do what is right! Say the truth! Don't take on the guilt that belongs to others! Let the other folks worry about themselves! Let your YES be "Yes," and your NO be "No!" Political correctness HAS to come to an end, or we will lose this country. :patriot:

Having given birth twice, I can tell you that a little brass down the blouse, though it may burn and blister a bit, is not fatal; nor is it as painful as birthing, and it will NOT kill you! So, fire away! If you were there first and someone chooses to remain where your brass is falling, that's their stupidity! Common sense should tell them to move back and wait until you are finished. If you walk up to the line and start showering another with your brass, you deserve the blessing out you're about to get! Make a better arrangement, shake hands, and come out friends. That's all that is needed. :thumbs2:

If others don't like your rapid firing, teach them how to do it, too. Show them how much fun it is, and let them know that is what they will most likely really do, if they do have to shoot at a BG. So, they'd better try it in a controlled environment, rather than spray bullets all over the place, when the real deal happens. IMHO.

:iagree: :thewave :thumbs2:

I hope you can hear my applause from here! Well said, and my sentiments exactly. (except the birthing part and brass down the blouse) don't know anything about that.

We have a problem at our range with people intentionally destroying the target stands. If someone builds their own target stands at home, then wants to take them to the range to destroy, that's fine. I just wish they would be kinder to the ones that are for everyone's use.

my posts were generally about uncontrolled rapid fire, which can be a danger to those around you. some ranges like Marksman in south houston have all steel target hangers that reflect rnds in all kinds of direction, few people have been hit with copper sleeves that peel off the rnd on impact and etc.

It causes a distraction. Im all for fast shooter, as i hope to be as fast and accurate Todd Jarret one day, but Todd can let 10 rnds out quickly and make a nice size group. theres guys who roll in with a glock 19 and 33rnd mag and pretty much just make a mess. its fun, but at the same time could be dangerous....

speaking in generally and mearly my opinion :D

you dont get weird looks when you rapid fire and have a nice size group, you get compliments. you get weird looks when others thing you're acting inappropriately at a shooting range.

and yes, while i was out at the range on friday, i was putting up a new splat target on my existing target, as i reached up, a person decided it was ok to walk up behind me and pick up my EMP. part of me was thinking "what the heck ARE YOU DOING" and the other part just didnt want any confronttation or toruble, i just wanted to practice. the EMP was unloaded (i just finished a mag) and the rest of my magazines were empty. he asked me why the bbl was big like that and i explained to him it was a bull bbl and such til i got the gun back. the owners took care of it for me as they are such great people, but i thought THAT was common sense now a days....

cliff notes:
1. uncontrolled rapid fire shouldnt happen, it destroys stuff, such as target hangers :smilelol5:
2. picking up someone else's gun with no permission is a no no..

Ya know I got a guy kicked out of a club I was at casue he decided that he was going to try and stick my Helmet on his head. If the bouncer hadnt been standing right there and seen the whole thing I would have personally drug him out and beat him with it.

If someone where to walk up and pick my gun(especially while I down range hanging targets.) his day of shooting would have been over. There is no excuse for handling someones else hardware.

Weather its Guns or Motorcycles or the pen on my desk at work. Its called being polite and Ill leave it at that. I would tell you what the other side of the coin is but then I would get banned. :coolgleamA:

If you're going to have an IDPA shoot, and nearly two dozen people show up, maybe one could have the place actually open.....
FWIW, IIRC, AFAIK, FTMP, IANAL. YMMV.

For the record that was not DAPS fault. They were told that someone from DFW gun Range was going to be there to open the range. DFW GunRange is the one responsiable for not opening the doors.

Was great meeting you though. :thumbs2:

It's really not funny to shoot someone else's target just to mess up their nice tight group. :evil2:

oh, I hear ya. I've been to that range a few other times, and for the most part, have been underwhelmed.
que ser a. I'm usually willing to give a place another shot, pun intended.
