What's next a "CHL" Car? You could buy a used cop car and deck it out in CHL stuff!

Back when I was doing the paramedic thing we referred to those types as "Woo-woos".

Anygun +1 on the "woo-woo's" I used to do the paramedic thing too. We had one guy who every kind of light you could think of on the biggest piece of junk car! It was a sight to see.

I have always heard a much less flattering description.

Charlie came to your town after he left ours? :evil2:

Our "cowboy" had about a dozen blue lights on his car, four behind the grille flashing alternately, two on top of the bumper, two "Mars" lights on a bar with alternating flashers on each side of each gumball (OK that's only ten facing forward, but he also had alternating flashers in the back window that alternated with the taillights.) He also had a "high power" PA mounted under the hood, which he used to clear traffic by shouting at people to get out of the way.

Under New York State law there was a prohibition against sirens on "civilian" vehicles, but you could talk to people on your PA unless someone complained under a noise ordinance. "Chuckles" also used to "accidently" get feedback out of his PA system, and that sure sounded like a siren, even if it argueably was not.

He also wore his FD issue badge on the outside of his jacket, while the rest of us wore ours on the inside, to be displayed under appropriate circumstances.

BTW, I think his car was a Gremlin. :rolll

Geez! Those guys are everywhere. There's always the guy who went through the EMT class, maybe even all the way to medic, but never could get hired on, even with a transfer service. We used to run into several of them quite often. They usually find their place with the volunteer fire department. I even ran into them after I left EMS and became a nurse in the ER. They'd come in after a bad accident asking about a patient and telling us how they took care of them till the fire department arrived. Goobers.

I am just wondering if I would be wasting my money on something like this....
I believe that if you can find the original Texas CHL badge that it may someday be worth worth more money than what you paid for it. Just because everyone laughs and poo poos ya doesn't mean its a bad idea. Items become collectors items because the unenlightened laugh at them. The Edsel, pet rocks in their original packages and 20 cent comic books are all worth good money today.

I wouldn't carry it on me though..

I don't like that idea at all. Associating our individual right to keep and bear arms with 'militia' only weakens our position. While I wholeheartedly advocate training, the Second Amendment doesn't say "the right of the adequately trained people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

Oxymoron Wear a badge to let people know you have a concealed handgun.

A 511 Vest just doesn't look right without one. They are the perfect accessory to go with a barbecue rig. If one is gonna go for a a shiny gun with a $300 custom made holster. and fancy cocobolo wood checkered grips. It almost screams for a new shiny CHL badge with its on genuine little holster. :evil2:

Maybe though they should only be worn while carrying a pink gun.

You put the badge on right above the "AGENT" name tag. :)
