All the pizza chains will fire an employee who finds it necessary to ventilate a mugger. All of them. It doesn't matter whether the employee was carrying legally, whether he reacted appropriately, or how much danger the employee was in. Local management will be sympathetic, but HR/Legal Department will can him.
I don't eat from Pizza Hut for a different reason, though. Their pizza isn't that good.
