Leave gun at home or leave in vehicle?

Man, oh man, some of you are going overboard! Get some perspective. We're talking about securing a pistol from a smash-and-grab. Have any of you ever tried to break into something like one of those little lock boxes? It's not exactly like pop it open with a screwdriver. It takes a fair amount of time and effort. How many smash-and-grab artists carry lock picks or a cordless drill or an oxy-acetylene torch with them?

Well, this will be my last comment on this topic.............
The majority of car break-in's used to be smash & grabs, but in my opinion, all that has changed since September of last year.
Even the Kids know now that the majority of cars now have a pistol in them (somewhere). Some will be easier to get than others, just like anything else, but they will be looking for pistols, not CD's. They now come prepared for cables and flimsy boxes.
It is in your best interest to secure your pistols as strongly as possible when left in a car for any reason.

Normally, I just lock it in the console. I know this isn't exactly iron-clad, but it offers some protection.
When I go to the beach, gym, etc., I put it in my bag. It isn't as good as wearing it, but it's better than locking it in the car. I also keep it in my bag when going to the local pool. (Ever tried to conceal in a swimsuit?)

Locking up the criminals is a better solution.
Shooting them is good too.
