I did however just pick up a Ruger LCP to take the place of my Kel Tec. I think I will feel more comfortable with the Ruger or at least I hope I do.

Please let us know how that works out, Carl. On behalf of the rest of us in the Kel-Tec Not-a-Big-Fan Club, we'd like to know how the Ruger runs for ya.

My favorite local gun store just got their first Ruger LCP. I may have to trade in the Kel-Tec. Much better fit and finish. And I trust Ruger. Although, with their recall, I may wait a bit and make sure the same thing doesn't happen with the LCP. They also have 2 Rohrbaugh's. Yes, they're very high priced, but I can't shake this desire to replace the .380 with a 9mm. Emmett, I haven't shot a Rohrbaugh yet, but I hear they're not too bad. They consistantly get good reviews, and have quite a following. The Kel-Tec is not alot of fun to shoot itself due to the VERY light weight and small build. Did the Rohrbaugh on here sell yet?

If everything goes well I will pick up the gun and go directly to the range on Monday. I will give you a range report.

I came across an LCP earlier in the week. got out to the range and put about 60rds thru it. no problems at all.

for its small size, it is very easy to shoot. I have about a medium sized hand, and it seems to tuck into a comfortable spot while shooting. after the 60 rds I had no pain or discomfort, and would have gone thru all 100 if I wasn't short on time.

trigger pull is long, but not too heavy. muzzle flip is very manageable and quick to get back on target. the reset has 2 clicks in it, which is a bit new to me. if you only let it out to the first click and then pull, you'll get a light primer strike. then you have to rack the slide to get going again (no pull the trigger again to re-try).

at its intended range, I think it's plenty accurate. here's my final 30 or so. 7 yards distance, brisk shooting pace. the sights are pretty crude, and for me they hit high, and a little to the right even using the 'lollipop' alignment (front post comes up to the lower edge of the bullseye). no complaints...



the little guy now accompanies me on my runs and rides.

I would like to go with the Ruger LCP, it will fit in a pocket or anything with ease. The only problem is, it seams you have to be in a store when it arrives or someone else will wind up getting a new gun. They move out of the stores as fast as they arrive. So, I might wind up with a wheel gun.
The BUG I wind up with will not be carried to much, I really like my S&W M&P 9c, that is a sweet weapon. But it just dosn't fit in some of the shorts I will probably be wearing on some summer days.

All positive. The SR9 is a little big, I used mine for the CHL test instead of a S&W MP 9. A real straight shooter.

My opinion is that if you carry a semi as Primary, then the best option for a BUG is the J frame wheelies.......
Just what I am comfortable with anyway.......

That being said, I have 2.......one or the other is under the pillow and the other is in my ankle holster......

A S&W Mod 36 and a Taurus Mod 85 Ultra-Lite.
The Taurus Wheelies are a good value for the money!
