I think a lot of the posts are from new CHL holders that have heard all kinds of misinformation and have valid concerns about carrying concealed and doing it in a way so as not to break any laws unintentionally,I saw an officer at the gun range that was carrying "concealed lol his shirt was so tight over his owb holster i could almost read the gun make by the grips .I choose to be more discreet

After reading some of the posts over on thr I can say that I think most people are a little better about not going overboard around here. The other day they had a guy on there who seriously thought it was ok to pull a gun on someone who was road raging and had gotten out of their car. He was in no danger the guy was going after someone eles and actually stopped before he did and got back in his car. ANYway....

I agree with everyone else here about the newbie syndrome type questions. They seem to pop up here every so often and probably always will. I generally don't even click on posts anymore that say something about printing. To me it's just been hashed and re-hashed etc etc. To tell you the truth I seldom ever post on scenario type questions anymore either. I'm not saying it's wrong to do so. I just feel at this point my feeling and attitudes are pretty much set as far as self defense. Anyone who knows me knows how I feel about self defense and RKBA etc. As far as printing, whether or not some cop is going to take me down, whether or not a 30.06 sign is compliant, or the best round for the slow moving zombies (thr threads!) I'll read along from time to time but seldom join in.

Everyone was a newbie at one time right even you! Alot of the disillusion felt by newbie's is the context in which their question's are answered in.
Either one offer's sound advice or has a positive input or they should just not even bother replying.

I think what you are seeing are questions from people who are getting a CHL, don't know any or many people who have one*, and are somewhat alarmed by things that they read online. Everybody realizes once they start carrying that the police don't have X-ray eyes and the general public doesn't notice or care.

To be fair, there were some serious incidents in the first few years after the CHL law was passed, where citizens carrying legally were taken down, arrested, and charged with various offenses. That has mostly died down, but we have one active case where a forum member was apparently arrested for carrying in a DPS office.

*Aside from people that I met through this forum, I know only one person who has a CHL, and he is an instructor. There are 400 in my zip code and about 1,000 in my town; but the topic has never come up in conversation.

Since my pal Frank Rizzo passed away, Philadelphia Mayors have been anti gun. Pro bombs - they'll take out an entire city block with an airborne percussion bomb - but anti guns nonethe less!

Frank Rizzo now I do not remember him being very Pro gun. As Police chief I think he would have buried anyone that carried in his city

Don't forget, Frank went out as a republican! I still own the .38 S&W Chief's special he ordered but never picked up due to his passing. Although in PA, at least back then, CHL's were issued at the county level by the Sheriff, Frank Rizzo personaly referenced many CHL applications - including mine.

He better hurry. IMHO he will be gone on the next election if he decided to run again. Then, Kay Bailey Hutchison can take over. Just checked and Perry got 39.3 % of the votes in the last election. That means 60.7% voted for someone else. That is not a good sign.
