.223 ammunition prices set to increase?

If you have a 5.56 chamber, it is safe to shoot both.

It appears from the lengthy article that the concern is the leade within the chamber. If you use a Wylde chamber, then your rifle should digest both rounds with no problems.

Have any of you heard of kaboom's associated with mixing ammo? I've seen primers back out, but I believe that's probably more of a tolerance issue with thrice fired brass than overpressure. Of course, I've been wrong before, I think that was once back in 1980.

So is it 5.56 or .223 after I handload? For the 80 grain HPBT bullets I used a Stoney Point gauge to set the OAL of the round so that I have the proper jump to maximize accuracy. These long range rounds are single load as they are longer than the magazine. Soon, I'll be loading 77 grain short range with an OAL of 2.25".

For the sake of argument, is my ammo 5.56 or .223?
