Nothing wrong with any of the guns suggested here, but if you happen across a used Mossberg 500 in good shape you would do well to strongly consider it as an option too. For less than the cost of just a good autoloader I've been able to buy my Mossy and deck it out with accessories so that I now have, in essence, three guns for three distinct purposes....

For birds, small-game and clay disks:

For throwing slugs at large-game up to 150 yds. away:

For dealing with 2-legged predators:

It takes less than 30 seconds to go from one barrel setup to another.
