I was a kid when Jackson-Lee was on the Houston city council but I think she was pro-crime back then too.

The district was drawn up by Tom Delay and his fellow Republicans. I think they believed they had to leave some Democrats electable so they pick the dumbest and least respected. So they left Sheila Jackson Lee because no one in Washington ever takes her seriously and when she shoots her mouth off in front of the cameras, Texans are reminded of what liberals have in mind for the rest of us.

I've always kind of thought of Shiela Jackson Lee as a part the "comic relief" of the House.

If our body of lawmakers are a farce, at least some of them should be funny to watch.

I would bet that Mr. Horn's lawyer would strongly advise against it. Just a guess based on what my lawyer has told me in the past (to quote her: "don't go around talking about it").

It looks like he's going to face a civil suit from the crime family.

He could still be indicted, especially if Sheila Jackson Lee bribes or bullies people to get her way.

The best thing for him to do is STOP TALKING ABOUT IT. No more interviews. No internet forums. No blogging. Keep quiet and lay low.

I hear you - but I'm still betting that his attorney would highly recommend against it - I don't think it would be a good idea, that's my take on it.

i think thats really sad that sort of stuff would come up in court
if this civil trial doesnt get thrown out i will have lost all faith in the "system"
