If you are ever down south of houston you can shoot my DE .50 in the dark. It is MagnaPorted with 4 ports and throws a heck of a blast of flame out.

Now imagine yourself having to fire a ported handgun in the confines of your car or possibly from retention with the handgun close against your body.

I have read several times of people wanting to do that. Hope they have an extinguisher handy.

I need to seriously take some advanced handgun and tactical classes.

But the point I was hoping to make is that your G30 really doesn't NEED to be ported.

The recoil isn't uncontrollable and should be very manageable.

OTOH, rm9792's Desert Eagle .50 AE requires porting to reduce muzzle flip.

I had the wrong ideas about ported barrels.

I wouldnt want a ported barrel on a CCW personally. The ranges you are dealing with in personal defense should present you with a COM target that muzzle flip isnt going to affect (with practice!). If you are in a struggle situation and that port is pointed towards your face, life isnt going to be fun when you fire.

I paid $750 for a black one, never shot, sent it to Fords in Florida to get bright chromed for $175 and another $100 for the Magna Port job. So i got roughly $1025 in it and you saw they are fetching $1700 for them in that condition. Ammo is a killer though, running $4 a round now for new. I bought the dies and can reload for 65c each which is still high in my book.

750's more in my price range, lol.

my next grand is going for a good ar-15 though with some mods.

considering I carry 20lbs of laptop nearly everywhere I go, concealing a big desert eagle wouldn't be that hard :evil2:

I'm more into function right now, I am looking into the best personal defense weapons I can buy now. The "toys" can come when I get out of college.

Have you ever handled a Desert Eagle? Taken in the sheer mass and dimension of the gun?

Having a laptop slung over your shoulder and a big hunk of metal strapped to your hip are two completely different things. If you can find an effective way to properly conceal a Desert Eagle, I'd like to see the pictures.

Sounds like he might put in his laptop bag or something. Not an ideal way to carry but better than nothing i guess.
