DPS says that submitting a computer ap saves 2 days processing. (One with a check goes to bookkeeping downstairs for processing first, one that has already been paid for by CC, goes directly to processing upstairs. The pre-addressed envelopes have different addresses.)

That said, if you can get to class w/i a week, I think it would be quicker to submit a hand-written ap. If, for some reason, it will take more than a week to get to class, go ahead and file/pay online and take your pre-printed forms to class with you.

If you file on-line, you will have to wait to submit the paperwork until you get the form(s) back from DPS. You do not have to wait to take the class, though, the instructor should have all the forms you need to have processed by them (fingerprint cards, notarized statements and photo card holders.)
