As a general rule, restaurants that serve liquor make more money on drinks than food...
If you usually order booze with a restaurant meal try foregoing this practice just once and see just how much less it'll cost you.
It'll be staggering...

I think you mean more on drinks than food individually via profit margin. For instance, they may make a 100% profit from actual cost of a drink, where as they may only make 50% profit on markup of a food menu item. However, most restaurants make the majority of their income on food vs. drinks. We don't want to confuse anyone and let them think most restaurants make over 51% of their overall profit from alcohol.Abraham wrote:As a general rule, restaurants that serve liquor make more money on drinks than food...

Actually, it's sales, not profit.

So long as they don't take in more money on gross sales of alcohol than they do everything else, you're good.

Ahh, yes, I got hung up on the profit side. Total sales is correct. Thanks for the clarification!

It's quite obvious, no one who goes into Fogo's would EVER do anything untoward, neither coming nor going either, with that said, I shall drive off in a huff, in my huffmobile!

I know this is an old thread, but I wonder if anyone has been to Fogo de Chão in Austin recently? Is it still "not posted"?

I was just at the Austin establishment. If you look closely you can see a non-compliant sign in the lower left window pane. Interestingly, its all in grey making it really hard to see, nevermind read. Almost like it was put there to appease someone without actually having any effect :-)
