XD9SC w/10 round in. Two 16 rounds in the XD "freebie" mag holster. I mainly carry this gun when I am in a "high profile" area or locked in the car at school.

1911 w/7+1 and one 7 round spare. I usually carry this gun when I am out and about.

I carry extra mags for two reasons

1. Malfunctions
2. In the event I need more rounds. If I'm out on my own or with my family, I feel 15 rounds should get me out of dodge. When I am at an event I may need all the rounds I have and more if the unthinkable happens.

Never less than 1 spare magazine, and at least 2 whenever clothing requirements allow, regardless of which gun is in the holster.

Speedstrips??!!! I didn't think anybody but cops who came on the job during the revolver era still knew what they were!

All kidding aside, they're very concealable, easy to use, and a very viable solution for those who use wheelguns and have trouble concealing the much bulkier round style speedloaders.

And yes, I still have some.

My IWB holster also holds a magazine, so as long as I am using that holster I have a spare mag.

It depends, today when I left I took one carry gun, one car gun. one spare mag for each gun. 60 rounds total. Sometimes I have only one gun no spare mag. All depends on where I'm going how long I'm going for and who will be going with me.

So do I. :thumbs2:

My SP-101 (with Hogue grips) makes using a speed loader just a bit tight. Speed strips (while not nearly as fast), conceal easily (as you said). This makes them perfect for situations....where you might be tempted to leave a speedloader at home.

Glad to see someone else still "knows" what they are.

Amen.

I do have a difficult time trying to carry an extra mag while wearing scrubs. I guess I could develop something to wear on my opposite ankle, but have never invested the energy......hmmmm, I need a holiday project.

Yes my wife gives me a hard time everytime we go to Chik Fil A on kids night w/ 42 9MM JHPs.
Whew, I am glad someone else carries this many! I carry one extra in case of malfunction or zombie/alien invasion. I carry two extra because, might as well carry two if you are going to carry one extra!

I don't carry a spare magazine but I probably would if I had a spare for my carry gun.

Sometimes I carry 3 spare mags!!!! The rest of the time I carry 2 spare magazines. I normally carry my HK USP 9 with 2 spare mags on me (15 rounders) and have an additional 2 mags in the truck. I also have a backup handgun, FNP40 with 5 mags total, including the one already in the gun topped off, with 14 round magazines.
