That's risk management, IMO.
it's like that old story about the guy who had a hand gun on him and was asked "are you expecting trouble?" To which he replied, "No, if I was expecting trouble, I'd have brought my rifle."
Well said.

Carrying in certain places does not make me uncomfortable.
Infingements and being prosecuted for exercising my God given right to keep and bear arms makes me uncomfortable.

I went to the airport to pick someone up tonight. First time I've been since having my plastic. Once I started walking in toward the baggage claim area I started to feel a little self conscious thinking about how much it would suck to be made at an airport. "OMG it's a terrorist with a gun". Of course it was uneventful though.

I carry most all the time, including at work.
Post office makes me slightly uncomfortable because the law is difficult to interpret. But only slightly uncomfortable because I figure that concealed is concealed and no one will notice that I'm carrying, so no problems expected.
I'm also mildly uncomfortable carrying in shul because I know the rabbi doesn't approve and I don't want him to feel that I'm being disrespectful. But I still carry because I find their standard security to be holier than the praying part of the service. I'm doing a mitzvah by protecting my self and my fellow congregants. So I carry and depending on the gun and holster I may have 46 rds of 9mm on me.
The aforementioned mild discomfort is very short lasting, kind of like you can burp and then feel better right away and even forget that you were ever uncomfortable.
One place I go to a couple of times a month where they ask that I don't carry. They have a sign, but it's not a 30.06 sign. Nevertheless, given the nature of this place, my dedication to their ideals and mission, and them having armed guards onsite, I choose to respect their request and leave my piece in the car. I've decided that it doesn't feel right carrying there even though there should be no legal repercussions.

I too carry every day at work, (at a bank). I am not worried about a robbery as most are note passers these days. I am more worried about walking to and from the truck at opening and closing. That is when I feel the most exposed. Ironically, the only robbery I have been present for, the nitwits approached the armed currier servicing the ATM, Currier drew down on the BG’s and that was the end of it. Probably the only time the currier touched his gun in his whole career.
On that note, I feel the least at ease when I am at a different location for training or the like, and we carpool to lunch, I really fear the unexpected 30.06 while with co-workers. Only happened once, (taco cabaña) it was easy to say, I don’t eat there, “TC does not agree with me”

subway is just fine.
I question the PO carry, ironically I have decided I will visit the PO Boxes, but not the counter. They are separated in most every PO I have been in. i WILL NOT go to the POBox at night with out

My plan for an unexpected 30.06 during a work lunch is, "Oh darn, I left my phone in the car, brb". If I carpooled then leave it in my jacket and make sure I'm the first back to the car. If it's summer and I have no jacket then if the place is unknown to me I decline to go along.

I carry EVERYWHERE I can. If it is posted legally I wont give them my business. The only place that I dont carry is when my wife and I go two stepping at which time I leave it in the car. I had to go to the airport here in San Antonio the other day to the secure area and I felt really uncomfortable without my gun. I would rather know that I can protect my wife and two children than be in fear that something may or may not happen. I guess what I am trying to say is that I only feel uncomfortable when I do not have my gun. Its better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
