WRT the original post -- most interesting, and kudos to whoever ran this to ground. The TC in Seguin had a 30.06 sign last time I was there (one or two years ago??). Never went back -- too many other good mexican restaurants in town. Will check this out next time I am in town.

I had a reply from her last year when I gripped about 30.06 signs and received an email saying Taco Cabana didn't allow firearms on their property. Since then, they must have changed their policy.

The gun issue notwithstanding, is Taco Cabana better than Taco Bell?

I can confirm that the non-compliant 30:06 sign at the taco cabana @75 & 380 in McKinney has been removed. Didn't stop me from going in there anyway. I always assumed they were just playing both sides of the fence assuming that anyone who sat through the class knew that the sign was non-compliant and didn't pertain to them while at the same time giving all of the sheeple a false sense of security.

Depends on what you're looking for, but I believe a general consensus would be "yes."

Well that's good to know that they actually went back and removed the sign then. I stopped by the TC in Seguin on the way west running from Ike in September and there was no signage.
When I was in college I lived on those bean and cheese tacos. I don't think I can take that anymore (and I know the wife won't), but I think their barbacoa tacos are still pretty good last time I had them, which has now been around 4 years. There's no TCs in Sealy, so I only have the opportunity when travelling.
And yes, I see it as a great sign that they took down the sign

. Just goes to show you that some businesses might actually pay attention to the 3% of us. One thing to remember is that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Another example would be a coworker that is complaining about something and no one else agrees with his/her position, but he/she still gets his/her way because of all the...squeaking. The antis squeak alot though they are highly outnumbered and lie and don't have any common sense in their arguments, but look how far they've gotten.

I must try a Taco Cabana the next time we get out of the woods. While I can carry my "iron" in Taco Bell under my pancho, they seem to be shorting me with meat in their Tacos. That's not good.

I was at the Taco Cabana in Mesquite last week and no 30.06 sign - only the normal blue "unlicensed possession" sign. I noticed on texas3006.com that someone placed a comment on my posting of the Taco Cabana in Lewisville that it's no longer 30.06 posted. I'm going to check that out today and, if so, will update the texas3006.com posting.
Looks like we may have won one here.

Last time I was in TC on Mason Rd in Katy they had a sign that looked like a legal one to me so I stopped going there. That was back in June or July.

You don't need to hit the stores in Lewisville. They're not posted. Neither the one at Vista Ridge that is listed on the 3006 site (I commented on the listing but the original poster hasn't removed it) nor is the one on Main Avenue. I live less than 5 minutes from the Main location and drive by the Stemmons one all the time. Don't let that STOP you if you're looking forward to that much Taco Cabana food...just saying it's not NECESSARY. LOL
I sent a PM to the author of that entry, requesting he verify and revise the posting. I'm not sure how Russell wants to proceed without an answer from the OP, but I'd bet if we get no answer and another person verifies the absence of the sign, we can likely just modify the entry to reflect the change.
Yeah, I smooth forgot to check it out....

I'll try to remember on the way home from ze gym (which will give me a
great reason to go in there
takin' one for the team... that's how I roll.
oh, and yes, they are exponentially better than Taco Bell. I'd put'em par with Bueno, but not as good as Rosa's.
as a pure Burrito joint, I'm a big fan of Chipotle's. but that's just me.

As I'm sure you all were waiting with bated breath (how is that spelled?), I stopped by the ol Cabana-Rama (as me and my buddy used to call it), and sure enough, after some serious inspection and a chicken Burrito Ultimo, not a 30.06 sign in the place. I believe that there is some adhesive on the front door where the sign used to be, but alas, it is no more.
I, personally, feel this should very well be considered a victory for our side. Not only have all the signs (at least the ones verified by our fine constituency) been removed, but I believe an "official statement" has come from those from up on high.
Once again, and I speak only for myself, I believe this makes them "Open for Business" to our ilk, and they should be removed from our "black list." Now, Grapevine-Mills Mall.....

If they really are removing all their signs then I would not only take their entries off the website but also put a note on there thanking them. And then send them the link

Well, the one in Cedar Park still has the sign that says "NOTICE - This establishment does not allow the possession of a weapon on these premises.". I suspect other Austin-area TC locations have this sign as well, since I have heard multiple reports of the signs at other locations.
In the case of the Cedar Park location, this sign is not posted in a prominent place. If you are working the register at that location, then the sign is on a bulletin board to your right. If you are a customer, then you will have to really be looking to find it.
I am not sure if this warrants keeping them on the 30.06 web site, since the signs are clearly not compliant.
