Surplus ammo varies in its consistency. The Czech Yellow Silver Tip is some of the best surplus ammo around. New production S&B 7.62x54R is absolutely great - very accurate and consistent. That'll run you almost $1/round, though.rkl56119 wrote:I got 2 Hex 91/30 and a Finn M39. I've tried out the Finn and one of the 91/30. I just put a scope on the Finn and still in the process of sighting it in. Currently I've got it sighted in at 50 yards and all the shots are within 2 inches and about 2 inches high. I'm sure when I move to 100 yards it will center a bit more.
The 91/30 is pretty good with iron sights. I'm able to group about 2 inches or so at 50 yards. I haven't tried it at 100 yards yet.
I'm hoping to get some more range time in soon to get both sighted in at 100 yards.
BTW, I'm shooting 4 different types of surplus ammo so accuracy varies. I'm sure accuracy will improve if I reload, but right now surplus ammo is cheap and plentiful.
