I wonder if the shooter had his FOID card on him? You do know that Illinois has its own form of gun registration, don't you?
Yes, I am very aware of the FOID card and I doubt the shooter cared if he had his card, assuming he was from the state, on him. I simply wondered if this shooting would affect the CCW bill positively or negatively. As well, Chicago controls the state and is run by corrupt politicians and always has been. The criminals in charge of Chicago and the state don't want the people to have the ability to fight back and that is why they have a FOID card and terrible laws that only help all criminals. That being a well known fact, a CCW law has been filed in that state and has some support among many elected servants outside of the immediate Chicago area. You know that, don't you?
Yes, yes I did know that. I heard about it on this forum and I think it's a swell idea.

I lived in Illinois twice upon a time and recall the requirement for the FOID card some 40 years ago. I am also vaguely familiar with the demogaphics and politics of the state. In fact, our current POTUS hails from, among other places, Illinois. :tiphat:

I blamed daylight savings time.
Now that is funny. Not the story but the blaming daylight savings time.

Pray for the family of the shooter as well. :(

"Sedlacek had 10 rounds of ammunition in a handgun and was carrying two more 10-round magazines in his pocket at First Baptist on Sunday, said Mudge. The .45-caliber Glock jammed after four shots were fired at Winters."

Did anyone else see this? It caught my eye because it's not often that one hears about Glocks jamming. (If the media got it right this time and the weapon was, in fact, a Glock). On the surface it would appear that the casualty count could have been much higher...

Church shooting suspect planned 'day of death,' prosecutor says
The first two shots sound like they were at the pastor; the other two were during a struggle. It also sounds like a lot of men got up and helped - not just the two who were injured.

What a terrible situation.

Let's get him good and healthy so we can put him to death.

On edit: I forgot that Illinois won't put him to death. I guess he has more rights in that state than the minister did.
On edit 2: My original wording implied that people getting up to help was terrible. This part of the story is heroic and inspiring.

looks like some one might have got a grip on the slide during the struggle.
Gripped slide = no cock
no cock = no shoot....

I think its worth noting that even though disarmed, this congregation weren't a bunch of sheep, and all indications seem to be that there were some couragous people there.

They were discussing this on Nancy Grace last night for a few minutes and that is what a special guest stated as well. They thought while struggeling they probably pushed the slide back.
