The 229 might be a bit of a challenge outside of a fanny pack or belly band. Fanny packs do not look strange at all while wearing scrubs (especially if you are a RT) There is no reason in the world you could not make a Sig P239 work for ankle carry or make your life easier and get a light revolver for work carry.

We live within driving distance....I would be happy to meet you for coffee sometime and let you give the Galco ankle glove a spin.

Based on this recommendation and finally being able to get my hands on a Kahr PM9, I was able to get an Uncle Mike's ankle holster and I absolutely love the setup. I just wasn't going to go fanny pack (sorry to those out there who use them, but I just can't handle the look of it), and I hated having to tote my backpack everywhere with me, like if I were to stop off at a restaurant for lunch. The gun positively disappears with some semi-baggy scrub pants and the combination of the ankle holster with the weight and thinness of the PM9 make it extremely comfortable. Thanks for everyone's input, as always. More proof that this community and the premise behind this forum just works.
