If it was hangin' out, it wouldn't be a CCW, it'd be an OCW... :biggrinjester:
FWIW, IIRC, AFAIK, FTMP, IANAL. YMMV.

Ok, so I'm in the Navy and currently stationed in Virginia. I lived the better part of my life in Texas and shall be returning in less than a year. When I got to Virginia it never occurred to me that Texas was BEHIND the curve in gun rights! I openly carry regularly nearly everywhere in Virginia. I can go in a bar OC, but not CC. I didn't need a license to OC, but I did get my CCW license.

Now, I'm certainly not trying to bash Texas. It's the best state in the nation hands down. Having said that, we need to fix our broken gun laws. Never has anyone said anything to me about OC unless it was to ask questions. I was glad to educate, and had a good conversation about our rights. People don't run away in fear when they see a gun. People don't get mad and start shooting just because they have an openly displayed firearm. Criminals don't target the guy with the gun because they see it. I'm speaking from experience and statistics based on the three years I've lived in an open carry state(commonwealth).

I just read the other thread involving OC and unfortunately it was locked. I didn't see anything roberts said that was offensive in any way. Maybe we should all apply for our Free Speech license.

This isn't a public square, its a private forum. It isn't the Government stopping your "Free Speech" it's your host. Just like you may be asked to shut it in someone's home, you can also be asked to shut it here. This site isn't your local free speech zone.

Differing opinions are welcome here, but language that is patently offensive or designed to provoke anger may be shut down.

No offense intended, just explaining the circumstances. :tiphat:

The other thread was locked because it was an old one that dealt with GOA allegedly getting involved in the open-carry "movement" in Texas. Additionally, a warning had been given about making the discussion personal and that was happening. Obviously, threads dealing with open-carry are not locked because of the subject matter, otherwise this thread would be locked.

As for a "Free Speech license," take your sarcasm elsewhere.
