Congratulations.
I have the ringing and crickets myself. Never thought of it as crickets, but that's a good description. I'll have to look into Starkey and the NRA discounts. Thanks for the information.

A friend at work sent me this link:
http://www.supercub.org/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=17465" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The fellow who started the thread is local. His enthusiasm prompted me to ask him for a referral to his audiologist. She set me up with a pair of these to try out for ten days - and they are astounding! The filtering and clarity is far better than any hearing aid I've ever tried. They are quite expensive, but it is a quality-of-life issue - better to be broke than walk around angry because you can hear lots of noise but can't discriminate speech.
Longtooth - congratulations again. Hang in there - you are at the beginning of a very interesting and rewarding journey.
Regards,
Andrew

I have always called mine crickets. I have good buddy that calls his Locust. Tote9 on the board.
Which ever you have they both terribly ruin your hearing.
