I have seen it written in here before more than once. "The best carry gun is the one you are willing carry" As some of you know I just went from a Compact Desert Eagle .40 DA/SA to a Kimber Tactical Ultra II and I have been quite happy.

Wow, didn't know this thread was still active. I got the kimber ultra carry and its great. Has a nice solid feel and is more acurate than I am. It will use it as my primary CCW, in winter when I can wear a jacket I will carry the spingfield 5". I could not hit consistantly enough with the HK USPc. aiming for the COM and hitting thigh would not cut it.

Good choice for the 2 seasons. Many of us have seasonal carry rigs. Mine is the same gun but go OWB when it cools off & can wear a vest or jacket. Practice: 1. on the range, & 2. wearing your rig at home, while waiting. You will be comfortable & ready when the plastic arrives.

I try to clean after every session until someone told me that the reason I broke my break down tab spring is because I clean it too much. So, I've tried cleaning it every three range sessions ( this could be in a matter of a week ), but it's too much of a pain. Now I rather break and replace the spring.

Wish I have a shorty to carry. All I have are 5" guns, but I prefer them that way and carry it evn during this summer heat. lol.

So you do clean every shoot? I have OCD when it comes to cleaning after shooting, it stays on my mind until I do it. I only shoot about once a month so I would be worried about corrosion if not cleaned and oiled.

That I do. When get home at 10:30, I wind down then start my cleaning process. Sometimes I would stay up til 2:00 AM cleaning my gun.
