What is a "Jared's"? Whatever it is, it doesn't need my business. :patriot:

Is that the fat guy who lost weight eating sandwiches? "rlol"

The only fact in their response is the fact that they're prejudiced.

LOL. That's what I thought when I first read the subject line. I like Subway and was going to miss them.

However, glad to find out it is the jewelry place.

I would like to respond to your e-mail concerning the Firearms/Weapons policy posted at our Jared, the Galleria Of Jewelry location.

Even though many states have laws permitting residents to carry concealed weapons and firearms, private employers have the right to ban weapons and prohibit persons with weapons from entering the premises. For the safety and security of our customers and store employees, Jared The Galleria Of Jewelry, has made the decision to ban weapons and anyone possessing them from entering the store.
So why isn't the security guard kept outside? "rlol"

I don't know the security guard from Adam (or Eve), so why should I assume he or she has passed any proficiency test. Heck half the time they don't look like they could even pass a donut store.

FWIW, WalMart sometimes has screwback wrenches for sale for about $5 near the watch batteries. Failing that, they'll replace most watch batteries that they carry cheaper than any jeweler, and not make you disarm first :)

FWIW, WalMart doesn't have the proper tools for replacing batteries on high-end watches like Tag or Diver-type water resistant watches. A while back I took a couple of watches to Jared to have the batteries replaced, but they were too busy trying to sell diamonds to other customers to help me. I have no idea if they were posted 30.06 or not, but with their snobby attitude I left and never returned. I found another local jeweler who replaced them for about 10 dollars each. FWIW, the other jewelry store had an armed off-duty Constable protecting their storefront. I never looked for a 30.06 sign. I just wanted my watches to be back on time.

I guess they never read the BOMA ruling by Texas Attorney General at the time, Dan Morales. He stated unequivocally that if a store posted a sign prohibiting guns by CHL or law enforcement, it wold assume ALL liability and they would be criminally accountable for any actions that harmed their customers or employees. This was stated as a request for ruling in 1995, It is no longer searchable. THAT is why Sears, Walmart, HEB, and other stores never had the postings...too muchof a liability issue.

I would like to get a nicely printed-out copy of that Atty General ruling in 1-inch contrasting letters in both English and Spanish and affix it next to each and every 30.06 sign that I come across.
