But writing pass on the tr-100 and have everything signed before you even shoot?howdy wrote:The shooting grade is "pass/fail" That goes on the TR-100. It is not acceptible to give the answers to the test while the test is being taken. The test is not very difficult. (my daughter took it at 12 years old and passed without reading anything) The state allows instructors to operate pretty much without interference, because as a whole, CHL instructors have taken their responsibility seriously. (as have CHL holders) The program is a success and it is important that we all follow the rules. I know I am preaching to the choir because the people on this forum WANT to do the right thing. Someone will write this guy up and the state will put a "mole" in his class. He could lose his instructor and CHL license.
Actually, I pre-print all my TR-100s with "PASS" for both the shooting and written test. If you don't pass, you don't get a TR-100. Why would you need one that says "FAIL" on it? Are you going to send that in to DPS?CrimsonSoul wrote:But writing pass on the tr-100 and have everything signed before you even shoot?howdy wrote:The shooting grade is "pass/fail" That goes on the TR-100. The instructor still has to sign it, and give you, or put his information on it. A Certificate with just 'pass' written on it is worthless.CrimsonSoul wrote:Ok Cross, how about writing pass on them, then driving to the range that you're shooting on and keeping the TR-100 in your car (with the word pass on it) while you shoot?
That would be pretty much how we handle it. If you pass, we sign it and give it to you. If you don't, we schedule another range session for you. If you can't pass in 3 tries, then we destroy the TR-100.CrimsonSoul wrote:Ok Cross, how about writing pass on them, then driving to the range that you're shooting on and keeping the TR-100 in your car (with the word pass on it) while you shoot?
I re-read what I said and what you said, I never mentioned it was signed and sitting in our cars before we went to the range. He signed and filled out everything we needed while we were in the classroom including the tr-100 after the classroom portion we put everythign in our cars, including our signed tr-100 and drove our cars to the range. There we only got out our firearms and bullets from the car and shot in groups of two. As soon as we were done shooting (I was in the first group) we left and went home. I technically could have never even went to the range for the shooting portion because I had everythign I needed before then. Sorry for not being good at explainingCrossfire wrote:That would be pretty much how we handle it. If you pass, we sign it and give it to you. If you don't, we schedule another range session for you.
