That is what my brother in law told me. Most people do carry loaded but if they get caught by the military, cops don't leave the office except on very special occasions, they can go to jail and not get to carry anymore. This guy is military or former military I am sure. He may be in a special police group or something but most likely military personal guard. That is my opinion. Surprisingly or not the Philippines does have a decent number of gun owners and the overall view of them is neutral. The E.U. and U.N. are the only reason, I think, they have any licensing at all and that is all bout money and not an anti-gun ideology.

Thanks KD5NRH.

SlowDave wrote:That is an interesting set of videos in comparison to the "a gun w/o one in the chamber is worthless as a weapon" attitude that prevails on this board. I understand the advantages of keeping one in the pipe, especially if the weak-side arm is hurt and/or restrained, but hate the overstatement that not carrying one in the chamber makes your weapon as worthwhile for self defense as a tube of chapstick. This guy seems to be getting some rounds on target in under 5 minutes ok. :thumbs2: :tiphat:

p.s. I carry without one in the chamber.

There is no doubt this guy gets shots on target a whole lot faster than I do with one already in the pipe!

That's all fine and well. Just try and find a place around here to practice those drills. All the ranges I go to do not allow draw from a holster, no rapid fire, stand at the line and shoot downrange only. Fine for paper punching but allows no real training.

I am going to try to make one of those pulley systems. I have thought a lot of one moving toward and away but never thought of one side to side. Maybe more weight on the bottom will keep it from swing so much.
maybe he's been reloading with Ray and Jackie!

FWIW, IIRC, AFAIK, FTMP, IANAL. YMMV.

zigzag:
You mentioned that the .45 ACP was developed due to the former US Army
.38's not killing the bad guys in the PI (Phillipine Islands) well enough.

I have heard this story for years and always thought it was true, but I read in
another source (I can't supply the reference or I would) that the real reason the
.45 was needed was in order to knock down the enemy horses. When you kill
an opposing cavalryman's steed, you have now made him another infantryman.

As a side note, the enemy in the PI used to wear makeshift body armor by wrapping
their torsos with thick ropes. Even if the bullet penetrated both the ropes and their
torsos, it held their guts in so they could continue fighting.

I'm impressed. Seems as though this gent is a dedicated family guy as well as a dedicated pistolero.
