It's legal to keep the gun in your car in the parking lot. It probably violates a rule in the student handbook, but unless it comes to their attention, it won't be an issue. Hopefully, it will only come to their attention if she actually needs to use it. At that point, you're not going to be as worried about the consequences of violating the student handbook.

Since the clarification of auto assist openers, get one for each hand...........auto open both at the same time and make a few moves.........if the perp does not have a gun, you should be OK.............if the perp has a gun, well.............

I missed that. Where can I read up on it?

Last I heard, in 2007, the 4th district court of appeals said something to the effect of, "anything that can be opened one handed is a switchblade and therefore illegal."

All that has changed. Customs backed out. Texas passed a bill (4456) that clarified the auto assist blades as NOT being switchblades. Effective Sept '09.
