Granted, I didn't go to that link, and they probably have better pics. I've just reacted about the appearance of the shoulder holster. I think most people would. I still think it's dumb, but that's just me.

The thing is shaped like a gun. If it walks like a gun, talks like a gun...

if I wear a hip holster, with a skin tight shirt over it, even though you can't see the gun, but it is resonably discernable to the average person, well, it's not concealed.

concealed doesn't have to be covert, but using something that's meant for "not a gun" but styled to look like a shoulder holster...
well, you're not helping the cause, that's for sure.

now, if you wore it with a phone in it, and then had an IWB holster with a gun in IT, well, that's called weapons of mass distraction...

carrying in a briefcase, a softcase, a safepacker or versapack is legal as long as it not discernable to the average person as a gun. it does not have to be carried on your body.

So, what would it be if I carried my gun in my vest, but used one of these for my cellphone and pocketknife?

My opinon is that it appears to be a firearm holster to the average person and would be subject to investigation, when found that it contained a cellphone there would be no infraction of the law

perhaps Mr Cotton could give us a legal opion of what is considered to be legal concealed carry, in these types of holsters or bags etc.

Just out of curiosity does anyone actually carry the Versipack or Safepacker with a shoulder strap for their DAILY carry? I can see carrying something like the Verispack/Safepacker with a shoulder strap while doing activites such as moutain climbing, biking, ATV riding, etc., or on a vacation where you might have a camera and other junk and need a bag to carry it all, but as DAILY carry I think there are better options.

I use my Versipack with the shoulder strap with some degree of frequency. I did it just today. It works out fairly well, but it is not my daily means of carry. I use regular IWB and OWB holsters for that. But the Versipack is good for trips to the gym, or if you need to run a quick errand and haven't put a holster on yet.... stuff like that.

I also own a Safepacker, but I don't use it that much, as it is really not good for carrying much else except a gun. The Versipack is more versatile. Also, I don't yet own a shoulder strap for the Safepacker, so it means that I have to carry in my off-side hand all the time.

I think a reasonable person would discern that 1st pic to possibly contain a gun. I wouldn't want to be the test case to verify it in court one way or another. There's just so many other options out there. I kind of like that Versipack. Thanks for the pic.
