When I did my address change they did not ask for the old one back.
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

From what someone else said when I bought my Taurus at Academy about 6 months or so ago they didn't give me the gun lock or have me sign the paper saying that I recieved it.

stash wrote:You think that is bad. A couple years ago I got a Virginia license as a back up to my Texas and when I received the license the picture on the license was of someone else but had all my information.
I can beat that. When I applied for a US passport, I filled in "IN" (for Indiana) in the blank for "State of Birth". When I finally got the passport back, I was surprised to see that the State Department apparently thought I was born in "India", and had put this on my passport.

Got mine last week. I live on "HICKS" Street, and they put that I live on "ITICKS" Street. Somehow, though, they managed to address the envelope for my confirmation of application receipt, as well as the one that my license came in correctly. They are blaming it on me for supposedly making my H look like an "IT. I called bull on them and asked them how my license can arrive at my address when improperly addressed, so therefore it MUST have been addressed correctly. So how could they have gotten it wrong on my card? Also, they do 5 months of background checks and don't notice these kind of things???

So long story short, I still have to pay the 25 dollar fee, because I threw out the correctly addressed envelopes and have no proof that they got it right the first two times and screwed up the third one. Let this be a lesson to keep all documents you receive from bureaus, etc....including the envelopes those documents came in. At least scan them to PDF and save them on your computer.

this may be off the topic a little bit , but , is it possible to request a replacement license
so that way you would have a back up if you were to lose your original one ?

You used to have to send in the card for changes etc...

It is different now, you request a new card with correct info (address changes included) and they are going by the honor system and expect you to destroy your old one once the new one arrives.
