Roscoe, I had a D42 several years ago. The finest guitar I have ever owned.
Sold it to a good friend and still has it. It's still one of the finest guitars I have ever played. I still have a D42, but it's a K2 with Koa top and sides. Plays nices, sound is a little brighter the rosewood, not as much power and missing those big bottoms that my other 42 had. I will get another rosewood someday.

I'll check it out. It's good you stay involved and playing. Understand the venue thing. Been there, done that. I pick and choose with a lot more care these days. I occasionally play with a band made up of retired (in their 80's) country swing players, and about half of the gigs with them have been nursing homes. We have a blast with the old folks. When I grow up I want to be able to play half as good as those guys have forgotten about. Turned down some Austin City Limits Music Fest sideman work because I don't want to get involved with the ZOO of trying to get set up and in and out. Last time, I spent 5 hours hassle in 105 degrees for a 45 minute set. This time it's going to rain. By the way, I do not do chicken wire! I did have my amp kicked in by a cat fight at the 1960 Inn outside of Tomball in 1970.....thankfully, it's getting harder to accurately remember those days. The Annoyed Man wrote:Rarely ever write anymore, occasionally do sing, but those pictures were taken at a concert put on by my church's worship team of almost all original songs written by band members for that concert. I used to play venues large and small, big open stages, small dingey stages behind chicken wire, but I've been playing pretty much exclusively within the context of being a worship leader for years now. The concert CD/DVD is called "Let the Morning Come," and it is available on iTunes. The church is 121 Community Church in Grapevine.RiverRat wrote:I just realized you are another gray hair.......Where were you playing? Singer-songwriter?
