STI manufactures their own guns, other than the model already mentioned.

They're in Georgetown, TX.

Among others, CompVest and SRVA speak highly of them. I'm looking at the Guardian in 9mm, with intention of purchasing after the holidays and after our income tax refund.

Where does the Citadel line of 1911's fall in the discussion of Armscor pistols? Who knows/has one?

Love my RIA compact, a lot of fun to shoot and is very accurate and reliable. Like some others I changed out the original wood grips for a Hogue grip w/finger grooves. I'll probably put some better sights on once I decide what to go with. Other than that I'm very happy with it, good 1911 for under $500.

About the 2 least expensive places I've found to purchase a RIA:

sarco inc. @ sarcoinc.com (908-647-3800)

centerfiresystems @ centerfiresystems.com (800-950-1231)

You need to decide if you want the GI or Tacticle model, either in full size or compact. I own Kimbers etc and bought a
full size (5") Tacticle model RIA just because I'd heard good things about them. It's been fine. It likes the Kimber ProTac mags better than the original issue mag. Like others, I replaced the original grips, had to file the front site down some to adjust a small elevation issue and it's been good. My oldest son used it to qualify for his CHL.
It is a entry level 1911 and worth every cent. A good value for the products price point.

edited to provide the gun:

Go to a High Caliber gun show at George R Brown convention center.

I went to the show last weekend and there were several to choose from between 350 and 400. AJC Sports was the cheapest.

Not sure what model it was.

Next show is the 1st of December. Google on Texas gun shows it should tell you when the exact date is.

A good friend has two of these guns and he loves them.

After a bit of surfing I found that the Citadel is indeed made by Armscor. It is the gun that Charles Daly was importing until they changed to BUL from Israel as their supplier.
