If y'all wanna do a peaceful open holster protest at Grapevine Mills, I'll buy the free pizza.
The only problem there is that's the only time I would go there in the first place
Mad they don't know that.

Dear Management:
My name is {Shorts}. I am a Grapevine resident, tax payer and local business owner. On November 23, 2009 I went to Discount Tire Co. located directly across your parking lot to get some new tires put on my truck. The wait was going to be an hour to hour and a half. That's not news to me as I'm familiar with waiting on truck tires. What did disappoint me was that your mall across the parking lot is posted 30.06. If that 30.06 sign wasn't posted, your mall would have received business you would not have otherwise received. Instead, I sat in the waiting room of Discount Tire Co., chatted with other customers and only spent $1200 for the day.
According to the Simon Property Management group website, which as I understand runs this premises:
Property Management has primary responsibility for maintaining Simon’s industry leading position by providing our customers a quality shopping experience. This includes focus on such diverse elements as quality of service, safety, convenience, visual appeal, cleanliness and comfort. Property Management fulfills all day-to-day operational responsibilities at the properties as well as managing operational and upgrade capital investments to insure a consistent and reliable retail product with desirable customer touchpoints. In addition, Property Management assures that Simon is a strong corporate citizen contributing to the betterment of the communities in which we operate.
You and your company failed in executing this primary responsibility by discriminating against a potential customer who has proven to State and Federal authorities to uphold the law, pay all debts and is trusted to possess a Texas Concealed Handgun License. In essence, I am one of the safest citizens walking around in public. Do you know that much about your other patrons? It is not only my business you have lost, but also my husband, family and friends. You have guaranteed yourself no money from me by law through your own position. Further, you’ve guaranteed more money lost through personal contacts. You will have my money if the 30.06 signs are removed. Until then I will take my money, my family and my friends elsewhere.

If ENOUGH people boycott (refuse to cast dollar votes at) places which prohibit ....... they'll need a government bailout.
The only way you're affecting "a big group like Simon" is if the businesses in the mall start going out of business and closing their shops, therefore affecting how many spaces in the mall are being rented.Shorts wrote:Like some of you guys I was/am torn between being angry and protest in silence or let them know. Several years ago I would quietly go about my way and be satisfied my money wasn't going to a business. These days I'm happy to tell people exactly why they're not getting my money because it is somewhat satisfying seem them come to terms with an ultimatum. (Plus I have real money and that's nice too :P). In these stiff economic times a business may be more flexible than when they're at the top of the heap without any cares. I don't think the hurt would be as bad for a big group like Simon, but I guess we'll see if they really care more about money or politics.

I believe you'd have more influence if you wrote letters to every business that rents space in that mall and tell them you won't be spending any money with them as long as the mall management chooses to post the signs.
In which case, they'd be getting your dollars anyway.RPB wrote:If ENOUGH people boycott (refuse to cast dollar votes at) places which prohibit ....... they'll need a government bailout.
Correct, So I think the best plan so far is "wrote letters to every business that rents space in that mall and tell them you won't be spending any money with them as long as the mall management chooses to post the signs."sjfcontrol wrote:In which case, they'd be getting your dollars anyway.RPB wrote:If ENOUGH people boycott (refuse to cast dollar votes at) places which prohibit ....... they'll need a government bailout.

1. If your a criminal, please feel free to enter and proceed with your criminal activity without threat of civilian harassment.
2. If you are a law abiding citizen, one with or without a CHL, please enter and financially support our fine facility, but please note that we have no interest in your safety.
I'm sure this could be said better but that really irks me, to bad for them, sounds like you were in a spending mood too.
I do congratulate you on getting the signs changed in the mall you speak of but the very real difference here is in that the Mall you were dealing with was obviously not trying to keep CHL's out. They did not have 30:06 signs posted. Through ignorance they had posted a sign that gave some the false impression they were not allowed to carry. So when the mistake was pointed out, they corrected it.wgoforth wrote:In calling and writing to the local mall officials here, they have now placed the sign "no unlicensed firearms."
Here is some of the wording I used, which you might get some ideas from:...snip
